같은 제목 다양한 뮤지션과 노래들...

세상에는 정말 무궁무진하다.

 

간혹 배끼지 않았다고 하지만, 상당히 비슷한 곡들도 있고...

정말 알게 모르게 베낀 곡들도 있기 마련....

 

Celebration하면

X-japan(엑스제펜)의 그것도 꽤나 유명하다.

 

 

엑스제펜은 그들을 대표하는 곡들이 여럿 있는대....

개인적으로 좋아하는 곡들중 하나가 바로 Celebration이다.

 

특히 기타의 초기 멜로디와 드럼과 어우러지는 리듬이 좋다.

 

 

 

멤버들을 보면 보컬에 토시, 드럼에 요시키, 기타에 파타와 히데, 그리고 베이스에 타이지.

안타깝게도 엑스제펜 또한 멤버가 두명 사망하고 이제는 고인이 되어 버렸다.

 

락(메틀)쪽 뮤지션들의 정말 수난시대라고 해도 과언이 아닐거 같다.

너무 많은 뮤지션들이 떠나가서 마음이 아프다.

 

엑스제펜의 Celebration은 나름 독특한 사운드로 듣는 사람으로 하여금 어깨춤이 절로난다.

이런 신나는 사운드가 좋다.

 

 

 

엑스제펜 이외의 또다른 Celebration이 있었으니

그것은 바로 Cool & The Gang(쿨 앤드 더 갱)의 Celebration이다.

 

사실 이름도 처음 들었다. 꽤나 유명한 뮤지션 같은대...

생각보다 너무 몰랐다.

 

그런데 이곡을 알게 된 계기는 바로 사우스파크였다.

내가 가장 좋아하는 미국 애니.. 아니 유일하게 보는 미국 애니 사우스파크

 

 

(랜디 마쉬)

 

사우스파크에서 랜디 마쉬가 오바마가 처음으로 대통령이 되던 때에

승리를 하고 축하하는 곡으로 랜디는 또 술에 취해서 노래를 부르며, 반대편에

서있던 지지자들을 우롱하며 Celebration을 부른다. 참 괜찮은 곡인대...

 

도대체 누가 부른걸까? 라는 궁금증이 들었다.

 

 

알고 보니 쿨 앤드 더 갱이라는 9인조 흑인 밴드였다.

형제들이 주축으로 구성된 쿨 앤드 더 갱은 형제룰 주축으로 하여 고교 동창생들과 함께 팀을 결성한다.

결성시기는 1964년... 꽤나 오래된 노장이라 할 수 있겠다.

 

형제들이 주축이 된 뮤지션들을 본다고 한다면

크리스찬 락(메틀)을 구사했던 스트라이퍼가 있겠다.

 

 

스트라이퍼는 노랑과 검정이 어우러지는 대표적인 컬러와 가장 큰 특징인 크리스찬 메탈이라는 장르를

대표하는 밴드인대... 여기에서 마이클 스위트와 로버트 스위트가 형제다. 형제는 보컬과 드럼을 담당한다.

 

그 밖에도 형제 밴드로는 OASIS, AC/DC, HANSON 외에도 상당수가 존재한다.

쿨 앤드 더 갱 또한 이러한 형제를 주축으로 한 밴드로 1964년이라는 시기에 데뷔하여 활동하였다.

 

뒤늦게 알게 된 밴드. 쿨 앤드 더 갱.

그것도 사우스파크의 랜디를 통해서 알게 된 곡 중하나.

들어보니 참 흥겹고 부담이 없어 좋은 곡 같다라는 생각이 든다.

 

특별한 날은 쿨 앤드 더 갱의 Celebration을 들어보는 것도 좋을것 같다.
